Should Men Bathe?

Well, should we?

To bathe is described as the following:
Verb
  1. Wash by immersing one's body in water.
  2. Spend time in the ocean or a lake, river, or swimming pool for pleasure.

Before we begin, let's clear up the fact that the second point is not really what we're talking about.

In light of the recent heatwave keeping up a good hygiene regime becomes even more important and you can certainly tell who has problematic BO when out and about.

Baths are the often criticised method of cleaning oneself. Filling up a bath is considered a waste of water, bills will be higher and some complain that you are just stewing in your own filth.

Who would have thought that pouring water in a fibreglass tub could be so controversial?

A shower, on the other hand, is easy, quick and efficient.

Sometimes though a bath can be a treat, a luxury. It can be an hour to yourself with a good book and, on occasion, that is just what you need after a hard day of work or studying.

Perhaps traditional views on baths and bathing is that it is womanly and feminine. Whenever I reveal that I enjoy the odd bath, laughter is muffled and comments are passed.

But shouldn't bathing be accessible to all?

We all lead lives that require a soak in the tub once in a while to unwind, relax and chill out.

I have a daily shower but I jump in the bath (not literally) on a monthly basis. I used to pour in some shower gel but over the course of the last year I have discovered the joys of bath bombs from Lush.

My personal favourite?

Big Blue. It smells great and it even comes with seaweed packed in. Delightful.

So reclaim the bath, menfolk. Just not too often though as we shouldn't waste water.

Do you bathe or is it not manly enough? Leave me a comment and don’t forget to follow my links below for the latest updates.
